First responders from across British Columbia were recognized for their service, leadership and commitment to their communities at the Dwivedi Foundation’s annual First Responders Gala in Surrey, British Columbia.

The event was organized by Anish Dwivedi, Chief Strategy Officer at GUS North America and founder and president of the Dwivedi Foundation, bringing together members of police, fire, paramedic, nursing, health-care and search-and-rescue services, along with elected officials, civic leaders and members of the diplomatic community.

“First responders play an essential role in keeping our communities safe, often making tremendous personal sacrifices in the process,” Anish shared. “Through the Dwivedi Foundation, we are proud to recognize their service, honour their commitment, and help raise awareness of the importance of supporting their mental health and well-being. This gala is also about bringing our community together to express our gratitude and inspire the next generation to continue this tradition of service.”

Through the Dwivedi Foundation, Anish has helped raise awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), support first responders and their families and recognize the contributions of people working in emergency and public-safety services.
‍

For GUS North America, the initiative demonstrates how leadership can extend beyond institutional responsibilities and contribute to broader community conversations around well-being, resilience and public service.
