GUS North America CEO Dr. Cyndi McLeod recently met with representatives from the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto to strengthen relationships and explore opportunities for continued collaboration in higher education.
‍

The meeting included Counselor and Head of the Education Office Zhang Meng, Consul Wang Ying and Consul Chen Na, alongside Mr. Yang and Professor Li, recipient of the Distinguished Fellowship at UNF.

Discussions highlighted the important role education plays in building connections across cultures, creating opportunities for collaboration and supporting academic excellence.

“Strong relationships between educational institutions and international partners create opportunities to share knowledge, recognize academic achievement and bring communities closer together,” Dr. McLeod shared. “Meetings like this are valuable opportunities to strengthen those connections and explore new ways to support higher education. I would also like to congratulate Professor Li on receiving the Distinguished Fellowship at the University of Niagara Falls Canada. This recognition speaks to the importance of academic contributions, and I wish him continued success in this role.”

Building and nurturing relationships with international education partners remains an important part of GUS North America’s commitment to fostering cross-cultural understanding and strengthening connections across the global education community.
