GUS North America CEO Dr. Cyndi McLeod represented the organization at Victoria Forum 2026, joining leaders from across Canada and beyond for conversations focused on the issues shaping Canada’s future.
Held at Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia, Victoria Forum 2026 brought together an outstanding group of speakers and leaders for important discussions on sustainability, financing, truth and reconciliation, strengthening communities and rebuilding Canada’s economic future.
For GUS North America, Dr. McLeod’s participation provided an opportunity to represent the organization within a broader dialogue on the future of education and the role institutions can play in strengthening communities and contributing to Canada’s social and economic development.
The Forum featured a strong lineup of speakers and perspectives from across Canada and beyond. Among the highlights was a presentation from Dr. Michael Hawes, President and CEO of Fulbright Canada, and Robin McLay, Regional Director, Fulbright Canada West, who presented the Honouring Nations Canada awards. The awards recognize Indigenous-led projects and organizations demonstrating leadership, innovation and impact.
Dr. McLeod also noted the opportunity to see the Right Honourable Joe Clark at the Forum and to hear from the many thoughtful leaders who contributed to the program.
The Forum underscored the importance of bringing together diverse perspectives to address complex challenges and build a stronger future. For GUS North America, being part of these conversations reflects a continued commitment to engaging with leaders and communities on issues that matter to students, institutions and the future of Canada.
